I had the most wonderful experience completing my diploma placement at My Planet Childcare Centre. From the very first day, I felt welcomed and supported by the entire team. The centre has such a warm and positive environment where everyone genuinely cares for each other—and most importantly, for the children. The staff were incredibly cooperative and always willing to lend a hand. Whether it was guidance, advice, or day-to-day support, I never felt alone. The room leaders—Christine, Mac, Amira, and Ling—were truly inspiring. Their leadership, dedication, and teamwork were evident in everything they did. Watching them work taught me so much about what quality childcare looks like. A special thank you to Jinan, who, despite her busy schedule, always made time to answer my questions and guide me patiently. Her support meant a lot to me throughout the placement. Shazreen, the amazing manager, has created a truly special environment where everyone works together with respect and positivity. And Gozde was always a ray of sunshine—her smiling face and kind nature made every day brighter. She helped me a lot during my time there, and I’m truly grateful. Overall, my time at My Planet Childcare was the best part of my diploma journey. I’ve learned so much, grown in confidence, and made beautiful memories. I highly recommend this centre to both families and aspiring educators—it’s a place full of heart, teamwork, and true dedication.

The educators see children as unique individuals who develop at their own pace. By providing enriching, meaningful and realistic opportunities children will explore, create, discover, and imagine. The centre’s programs reflect planned (deliberate, purposeful and thoughtful) and emergent (spontaneous) experiences designed to support children’s development in all areas, giving them opportunities to become decision makers, motivated and inquisitive learners.
The children take part in experiences in small and large groups, with structured table top activities, floor based activities, indoor/outdoor independent play, and developmental play, all as part of the centre’s curriculum.

Each program is thoughtfully developed to be developmentally and age-appropriate, following our My Planet Outcomes, while also incorporating exciting challenges to foster growth and curiosity.

At My Planet Childcare, our Community Walkabout program runs throughout the year for our preschoolers, providing hands-on learning experiences right in our local neighborhood—no transport required, just curious minds and eager feet!
Depending on what children are learning, we may:
🚸 Practice road safety – crossing streets, holding hands, and following safety rules.
🏫 Visit local schools – taking part in special events and preparing for big school.
🛍 Shop for healthy foods – purchasing fresh fruit, bread, and deli items for the centre.
👩⚕️ Meet local professionals – visiting the dentist, doctor, fire station, post office, and more.
📚 Explore community spaces – enjoying storytime at the library, treasure hunts at the park, or singing to our elders at the nursing home.
This program enhances road safety awareness, social skills, and a sense of belonging, boosting confidence and self-esteem while helping children connect with their community.
Igniting a Love for Reading
At My Planet Childcare, we inspire a lifelong love of reading through storytelling, interactive book experiences, and creative activities. Reading from an early age enhances pronunciation, comprehension, vocabulary, and a deeper appreciation for literature, setting the foundation for future success.

At My Planet Childcare, our Big School Program is designed to ensure a smooth and confident transition to primary school. We focus on essential skills such as:

Through structured activities, interactive learning experiences, and school visits, children become familiar with school routines, expectations, and environments. Our program also emphasizes emotional readiness, helping children develop resilience, confidence, and a love for learning.
With strong family 👨👩👧👦 and community 🤲 engagement, we support each child in feeling prepared and excited for their next big step—starting school!
As educators, we observe your child as they engage, react, interact, and demonstrate their skills and knowledge through various experiences and activities.
Using the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), Child Developmental Milestones, educator expertise, school expectations, and family input, we have developed My Planet Outcomes—a structured approach tailored to three age groups with guided steps to identify strengths and skills.
Our Developmental Summaries (Progress Reports) are based on these outcomes. When a report is completed, we invite families to discuss what we have learned and the next steps. This can include ensuring consistency between home and the centre, transitioning to a new room, or preparing for primary school.
All meals and snacks are prepared by a qualified cook each day, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late snack. The menu was developed to fit within the NSW Health Munch & Move guidelines. Families are encouraged to contribute recipes and ideas to the cook, as well as partaking in cooking activities with the children.
The centre undertakes cooking experiences with the children, even starting with an excursion to purchase the groceries. Families visit the centre and perform cooking activities with the children. Some of the children’s favourite meals are pasta with fresh tomato based sauce, lentils and rice with yogurt, and stir fry noodles.
