In our Centre, we implement a play-based educational program that creates a safe and secure environment for all children to enhance their emotional, physical, intellectual, and aesthetic development.

At Discover and Learn Academy, we believe that learning is enhanced in an environment where you feel you belong. Therefore, we are committed to nourishing the children’s and educators’ souls, creativity and imagination. It is important to provide opportunities for children to experiment, discover, create, investigate, practice theories, solve problems and express their ideas with the support of others. Children are always encouraged and supported to make their own decisions and choices and seek to develop positive problem-solving skills in a success-orientated environment.

The experienced and knowledgeable educators at Discover and Learn Academy are passionate about early childhood education. They each bring their own unique skills and interests to the centre, working collaboratively as a team to ensure every child has a positive learning experience. 

An important element of working at the centre is ongoing reflection and learning. The educators are encouraged to engage in ongoing professional development to ensure they are up to date with the latest thinking and practices in the sector.

At Discover and Learn academy we work with families to build strong, reciprocal relationships. We encourage parents and carers to provide input and feedback into the programs and participate in the centre. 

The relationships between families and educators are built on open communication and respect. Families can share their culture, special celebrations and other interests. This helps to build connections across the community in the centre, teaching the children about inclusion, diversity and respect. 

We encourage and support children to interact positively and collaboratively, expressing empathy for others and actively challenging biased opinions and promoting social justice.

We provide children with endless opportunities to discover and learn about themselves, each other, and the world we live in, in an atmosphere that supports and encourages harmonious and meaningful relationships.
