Hi. My name is Rachael and I have been caring for children in Newport and Altona North for the last 14 years. Initially as a Nanny and then as a Family Day Care Educator. We are a very active little team and love getting out and about into our community . We attend local parks and playgrounds daily, Story time regularly and excursions further afield via PT ( bus and train) , for example to the NGV, Altona beach Scienceworks and Melbourne Museum . As per government regulations I am permitted 4 children to care for on a daily basis. CCS Rebate is available and is income means tested just like any day care facility. I believe Family Day Care is something really special. For the children I am like their funny grandma ( I think this title might apply to anyone over 40 from a child's perspective). The parents and I become good friends. We are a close , nurturing supportive extended family. On every given day there will be a variety of ages within the group which allows us to learn from each other. Many siblings have attended my care, which is also a benefit to mparents and to the bonds of the siblings as they spend days beside each other rather than separated into different rooms. We love being creative, reading, listening and dancing to music, ball play, imaginative play , dress ups and cooking together. I am a patient , fun, energetic woman. A Mum oif 3 adults .
