My 16 month old son started at 10 months old, in this time his developmental milestones have skyrocketed. He absolutely adores all of his teachers and being at daycare they not only show nothing but love and care and treat the kids like they’re their own children but they also focus on educational activities appropriate to their age. Could not recommend Little Scholars Nerang enough.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

Little Scholars offers a range of studios tailored to different age groups, each designed to enhance learning and development in a nurturing environment. From the Nursery for the youngest learners, focusing on care and comfort, to the Toddler, Pre-Kindy, and Kindergarten studios, each space is crafted to support the specific developmental stages of children up to five years old. Activities and curriculum are age-appropriate, encouraging play-based learning, social skills, and foundational education.

This streamlined approach of an emergent curriculum supports educators to adopt child development theory and put into practice.

Our educational program is based on the premise that children are most successful at learning when curriculum experiences account for children’s interests, strengths, and individual needs.

The Collective encompasses all aspects of Little Scholars, including a collaborative approach with our children, families, educators, and community.

Our weekly programs, which can be seen in our studios, are responsive to the evolving interests and needs of the children and allow for flexibility and extended periods of play and research to test theories.

This enquiry-led teaching strengthens children to become competent and capable across their developmental domains.

The Collective allows educators to follow the children’s lead and actively explore new concepts, ideas, or interest.

Health & nutrition

Health & nutrition

Little Scholars believes that health and wellness is the foundation of growth, early childhood development and education.

Developing healthy eating habits is a fundamental skill for young children and we play an important role in helping your child learn about and enjoy a variety of nutritious foods each day. That’s why our Little Scholars campuses employ qualified chefs to prepare tasty, nutritious meals and snacks in commercial kitchens. These meals are safe, developmentally appropriate and properly portioned for your child. It’s a recommendation from health authorities that children in long daycare are provided with at least 50 per cent of their daily nutritional requirements whilst they are in care.

We have an exciting rotating four-week menu that changes seasonally and incorporates a variety of flavours and textures to support our children trying new things, expanding their palates and promotes healthy eating. This menu always on display for families to have a look at, and we’re always open to suggestions from parents!

We provide your child with opportunities to enjoy healthy foods that promote growth and allow them to learn food preferences and good dietary habits that help them live a healthy lifestyle. Little Scholars offers a seasonal, Nutrition Australia-approved weekly menu, which includes vegetarian and halal options if required. We devote significant resources to allergy requirements, all combined with our user-friendly online allergy notification system.

Healthy eating from early childhood also means children will have less chance of developing chronic diseases like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity and some cancers. But it will also mean they feel great and enjoy life more!

Health and Wellness is essential for our Little Scholars growth and development and encourages the children to live robust, happy, and fulfilled lives.

Meet the team

Meet the team

Our educators and staff are here to help your little one to feel safe, happy and engaged.

Renee, our long time campus manager is here to greet families and answer any questions you may have. If you don't immediately see Renee, you'll likely bump into Ebonie, our 2IC or Lyndal, our incredible administrative officer, who are here to make your day easier and your child's day brighter. Claire, our educational leader, has an influential role in inspiring, motivating, affirming and also challenging or extending the practice and pedagogy of educators.

For our kindergarten children, our early childhood teacher (ECT) is Lucy. Lucy will help your child develop all the necessary skills they can take with them as they transition to prep.

In your child's studio, there is a lead educator and supporting educators to support your child's early education. Our Little Scholars’ mission is to deliver the highest quality early childhood educational experience imaginable for children and families. It is the people who make our learning environments so memorable, and it is thanks to our kind-hearted, passionate, and qualified educators who help make this possible for our Little Scholar children and families.

We have established a family-like environment where Little Scholars Early Learning is committed to ensuring all our educators have access to on-going support and training, they require to further support their professional development, and we provide every educator the opportunities they desire to reach their highest possible potential as an early childhood educator.

Our educational programs follow a curriculm we call "The Collective" and are child-led and educator supported. These weekly programs, which can be seen in our studios, are responsive to the evolving interests and needs of the children and allow for flexibility and extended periods of play and research to test theories. This enquiry-led teaching strengthens children to become competent and capable across their developmental domains. The Collective allows educators to follow the children’s lead and actively explore new concepts, ideas, or interest.

What the parents say

What the parents say

Our little one has been raised and taught at Little Scholars Nerang since he was just 8 months old. He has a love for his daycare like no other and a bond so close with his teachers and yearns for cuddles every morning just so I can leave.
We have been supported through the entire journey and have been lucky enough to have Renee as the Director the whole way through and a supporting networking of teachers that are an extension to us at parents. When our little man graduates this year it will be so hard to let go of the family we have at Little Scholars to move him onto Prep. The staff and leaders at the centre have been home to us and our little boy for 4 years. Thank you for all the outstanding support and love you give to our little Luke in your care.

Caitlan, parent

Decided to enrol my babies here after visiting a lot of other centres and from the very first time we stepped into little Scholars we immediately felt like family. Definitely be here for the next 5 years!

Eve, parent

We’re so grateful to be a part of the LS Nerang community. Our girls are so loved, supported and cared for. They are thriving developmentally and have incredible confidence that has come from being so supported. On top of that, our big girl has epilepsy, and the LS staff have received training to care for her. And beyond the practical care, they also raise awareness through things like turning the daycare purple for epilepsy on purple day. The BEST daycare.

Mali, parent

The first-time parent uneasiness that comes with sending your first child to daycare is easily put to rest at Little Scholars Nerang. The staff are wonderful and kind hearted, the environment is very accommodating and best of all our daughter loves going. Some times I think she wouldn’t mind staying longer.

I was initially nervous about sending my first child to daycare and returning to work. Thankfully, we had the opportunity to attend stay and play sessions, which helped both my 6 month old and me feel more comfortable with the transition. From day one, everyone has been so warm and welcoming. The educators do a fantastic job of keeping us informed, and it’s been wonderful to see my son settle in so well and begin making positive connections. I would highly recommend this daycare to anyone considering care for their child.

We have been sending our little one since early Feb. I was so worried to leave him at childcare, but little Scholars has made us feel welcomed and safe. The educators are all so lovely and greet us with a smile when he arrives, and ease any worries. He seems happy when hubby picks him up, and everyone is always so friendly. The center is very lovely and clean and offers a homely feel. We look forward to watching him grow there.
