The team at Explore and Develop Emu Plains have provided my children with a safe and nurturing home away from home since they commenced there over two years ago. Over that time my children have been exposed to various experiences that foster their personal interests (from pretend play to sensory exploration), and have developed numerous skills along the way. Perhaps most importantly, the educators at Explore and Develop know my kids and what makes them smile, they validate their emotions, and are there to support them each and every day they are in their care.

⸻ We’ve been part of this daycare family since it opened in 2019, and we couldn’t be happier with the care and support our children have received over the years. Both of our kids started in the nursery room—our eldest progressed through to preschool and is now thriving at school, while our youngest is currently enjoying the toddler room. It’s a truly wonderful, family-focused daycare. The environment is always clean, safe, and welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly, caring, and professional. Communication is always clear and timely, which gives us great peace of mind. The educators go above and beyond to support each child’s development with thoughtful, individualised learning programs. Most importantly, our children have always had so much fun and look forward to each day. Explore & Develop Emu Plains will be conveniently located at the foot of the Blue Mountains – 273 Great Western Hwy, Emu Plains. The service will offer a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years old, 7.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday.
Our aim is to provide a welcoming home like environment where children and families feel they belong, and they are part of a community. Families can feel assured that the owners of the service will be available on site daily, together with an experienced and highly qualified team of educators.
Explore & Develop Emu Plains will foster an emergent curriculum. This means that when educators program and plan for children they are using children’s interests to do this. Explore & Develop Emu Plains will have a play-based learning style which allows children to explore, wonder and be curious in their environment. This supports children to problem solve, think rationally, use skills of trial and error, and much more. The benefits of play can be seen as a positive approach to learning that accommodates for educator involvement. This is important as we believe that educator involvement is crucial to support each individual child in their learning. Through play and interest’s, children learn to be independent in their learning however recognise when they need assistance. This, in turn, allows for educators to foster and scaffold children’s learning.
Another component of our curriculum which will be very important to us is creating time for our families and building family partnerships. We feel by doing this we are able to find genuine ways to listen to and communicate with families. We want our families to feel valued, respected and empowered in their role as parents. By working in partnership, families better understand their child’s learning and development and children are much more likely to reach their potential.
