I'm writing this review to share my complete trust and support for McGraths Hill Learning Centre and their incredible team, especially James. As a parent who has had several children attend the center, both in the past and currently, I've seen firsthand the dedication and genuine care the educators bring every single day. Knowing James personally, I can attest to his highly professional and nurturing approach to early childhood development. His calm demeanor and positive energy truly make a difference. Knowing he's a parent himself, with a child attending the center, only strengthens my confidence in the quality of care and education my children receive. McGraths Hill Learning Centre is a privately owned childcare centre, catering for children between the ages of 0 – 6yrs. We have a specialised preschool program, so that your child can head off to school with confidence.
We have a team of dedicated teachers and carers who make your child’s safety, education and happiness a priority.
We at McGraths Hill Learning Centre are dedicated to the welfare of it’s children. The children are placed in groups according to their age and developmental stage. We aim to encourage the growth, maturation and developmental skills for each child across all developmental areas – emotional, social, physical and intellectual.
We are set on a beautiful five-acre property, with a large natural outdoor playground for your children to play in. Our centre is very close to Windsor Road for easy drop offs and pickups, but in a lovely rural setting away from traffic and noise.

6 weeks – 24 months
Educators assist the nursery children to learn about the world around them and to explore when they’re ready. They are encouraged to move around the space, feeling, tasting, listening, smelling, seeing and interacting with the carers and each other. Parents can feel confident knowing that the experienced educators are on hand to help their child settle in.
2 – 3 years
The curious toddlers are busy learning and playing, and love being in the same space as their owl baby friends. They love seeing what happens when they experiment with ideas. Interacting with their peers teaches them social skills such as turn taking and making a friend.
3 – 6 years
Children become more independent and confident in their ability to learn new skills. Their attention span is building, and group work allows them to build friendships. The curriculum is based on the children’s interests. For the older children they’re taking part in the school readiness program.
The educators get much of their inspiration for programming and activities from the open, natural environment. The centre is on 5 acres of rural land with natural vegetation and friendly farm animals.
Rather than having strict schedules, educators allow the children to help determine what they would like to do based on what is going on in their environment that day. Educators say that the environment is the biggest element of their programming.
The centre cook works in the state of the art commercial kitchen, providing delicious meals on site each day. There is a four week menu with a different meal each day, and staggered meal times to cater for the different age groups.
The centre’s menu follows nutritional guidelines and gives the children the recommended dietary intake of the 5 food groups. Children are offered breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.
The children have their own vegetable garden, which they attend to daily. The educators use this space to teach the children about healthy eating and nutrition, as part of their sustainability program.

Staff retention: the educators at McGraths Hill Learning Centre tend to stay for a long period of time. The longest serving educator is Lisa who has been working at the centre for 13 years. Many other educators have been with the centre for a long time as we understand the importance of continuity of staff for the children to settle into a trusting and caring enviornment.
Consistency of care: the centre understands the value of their low staff turnover, as this offers consistency for the children and families, which is vital in building strong relationships.
Training: the educators are always up-skilling their teaching practices through in-services, webinars, conferences, research and more.
Family focus: the centre is run by three sisters, who are all qualified Early Childhood Teachers. They value their family focused reputation, and invite families in the area to stop by anytime for a tour.
McGraths Hill Learning Centre speaks volumes within its own occupancy and family retention. We rarely have families leave our centre unless their children are heading off to Kindergarten or their family situation has changed. We aim to provide the best possible care and education to the children in our centre.

I love working at McGraths Hill Learning Centre because everyone is so welcoming. It's such a tight knit community, like a big family! We have a large outdoor playground that is very sustainable and natural providing the children with endless opportunities. The Centre speaks volumes once you come and check it out.

Morning
The little ones head out to visit some of the farm animals. They love to watch the educators filling up the water troughs and feeding the sheep.
Lunch
The babies sit together in their high chairs to enjoy their lunch together. Those that need it get ready for a nap.
Afternoon
Everyone heads outside to play on the mat and enjoy some bubbles and songs from the educators.
Morning
The toddlers put their boots on and head off to see Harry the Horse. He gets a few nice red apples, and the children brush his long mane.
Lunch
After lunch, the toddlers are busy riding bikes around outside and playing in the sandpit.
Afternoon
Time for music lessons now, where everyone can take turns with an instrument and follow the patterns made by the educator.
Morning
Put your chef’s hat on, it’s time for some cooking! The pre-schoolers are baking muffins this morning which they will share for morning tea.
Lunch
There’s lots of weeding, watering and planting to be done in the veggie patch. Everyone picks the cherry tomatoes as they’re ripe and ready.
Afternoon
The children head outside to play in the huge outdoor area, digging in the sandpit and having fun with their friends.

Such a beautiful open place for kids to be kids with a family that encourage so. Both our kids have been going for 2+ years and run out the door most mornings. Always greeted with a smile, the team show genuine care for our children which is why 7 other families that are friends of ours also go here. The educators engage with us to understand goals we have plus provide guidance for age appropriate things to expect.
