About Think Big Early Learning Centre

At Think Big Early Learning, we are a family-owned, owner-operated early learning centre where children, families, and community are at the heart of everything we do. With our owner onsite every day, we build genuine relationships with families and provide personalised care in a warm, welcoming environment. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, our play-based program follows children’s interests through hands-on experiences, creative projects, cooking, and engaging incursions, encouraging curiosity, independence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.

Our experienced educators include a Bachelor-qualified Kindergarten Teacher who delivers a comprehensive school readiness program, helping children develop the confidence, resilience, and skills needed for a successful transition to primary school. We also support busy families with flexible swap days where available and keep families connected through the Owna App, with daily updates, photos, learning stories, and important communication.

Children’s safety, wellbeing, and inclusion are our highest priorities. We foster strong partnerships with families and create a nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported. With thorough staff checks, CCTV in common areas, onsite parking, and a secure service road location, families can feel confident that their children are cared for in a safe and welcoming environment where they are encouraged to think big every day.

What the parents say

What the parents say

Families describe Think Big as a warm, welcoming and nurturing environment, where children are genuinely cared for and supported. Our families appreciate the dedication of our educators, the safe and thoughtfully designed learning spaces, and the effort that goes into creating meaningful experiences for every child.

We understand that choosing an early learning centre is a big decision. Parents want to know that their child will be safe, happy, valued and treated as an individual. That is why building genuine partnerships with families is at the heart of everything we do.

From the moment families walk through our doors, we aim to create a home away from home where children can develop confidence, independence and a love of learning. Our owner is onsite and involved in the day-to-day running of the centre, allowing us to maintain strong relationships with our children, families and educators.

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

At Think Big Early Learning, we believe children learn best when they are given the freedom to play, explore, question, create and think big.

Our curriculum is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, with a strong focus on children as capable and curious learners. We embrace play-based learning and use the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS) to guide our practice and support every child's development.

Learning Through Play

At Think Big, we believe play is powerful. Through play, children develop confidence, independence, communication, creativity, problem-solving skills and meaningful relationships.

Our educators encourage children to make choices, follow their interests, ask questions, experiment, discover, create and share their ideas. We provide rich, engaging and welcoming environments where children can learn through hands-on experiences while, most importantly, having fun.

Our educators carefully observe and listen to children to discover what they are interested in, what they are curious about and what they are ready to learn next. These observations become the foundation for our programs, allowing experiences to be meaningful, purposeful and relevant to each group of children.

We believe that when children are genuinely interested in what they are learning, their curiosity becomes the starting point for deeper learning.

At Think Big, we celebrate every child's identity, culture, family, strengths, abilities and interests.

Our educators build strong and respectful relationships with children and families, creating a sense of belonging and emotional security. We encourage children to express themselves, share their ideas and feel proud of who they are.

Learning Environments That Inspire

Our learning environments are intentionally designed to encourage children to explore, investigate and become confident learners. We provide engaging, well-resourced spaces where children can make choices, work independently, collaborate with others and revisit their learning.

Our educators continuously reflect on the environment and adapt experiences based on the children's changing interests, development and needs.

Each room at Think Big has its own individual learning program, developed around the interests, strengths, goals, development and needs of the children within that group.

The Nest | 6 weeks – 12 months
A nurturing environment focused on secure relationships, sensory exploration, communication, movement and developing a strong sense of trust and belonging.

Little Wings| 12 months – 2 years
A space where toddlers are encouraged to explore their growing independence, develop communication, build relationships and discover the world through hands-on play.

Tiny Flyers | 2 – 3 years
A learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, social development, language, independence and growing confidence.

Daring Flyers | 3 – 4 years
Children are supported to investigate their interests, develop friendships, express their ideas, problem-solve and become increasingly confident and independent learners.

Mighty Flyers | 4 – 5 years
Our school-readiness environment supports children to develop confidence, independence, communication, resilience and the skills they need to make a positive transition to school while continuing to learn through play and exploration.

From our youngest babies to our school-ready children, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to wonder, discover, create and grow in their own way.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

At Think Big Early Learning, we believe nutritious food plays an important role in supporting children's growth, development, wellbeing and learning.

Our in-house chef prepares fresh, nutritious meals each day, providing children with breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. Our seasonal menu rotates throughout the year and is thoughtfully planned to provide children with a variety of fresh, balanced and wholesome foods.

We understand that every child is unique, which is why we work closely with families to accommodate allergies, dietary requirements, cultural and religious preferences. We take individual dietary needs seriously and ensure appropriate information and documentation is in place so children can enjoy mealtimes safely.

At Think Big, mealtimes are about more than simply eating. They are an opportunity for children to connect with their friends, develop independence and build positive relationships with food.

Educators sit alongside children during meals, creating relaxed and social experiences where children can talk, share, explore new foods and develop an understanding of healthy choices.

We encourage children to listen to their bodies, recognise when they are hungry or full, and develop confidence and independence around eating.

We believe positive attitudes towards food begin in early childhood, and we work in partnership with families to support healthy eating habits that children can carry with them as they grow.

Meet the team

Meet the team

Hi, I’m Jade - mum of two girls, Scarlett (6) and Sadie (3), wife, and founder of Think Big Early Learning
Becoming a parent completely changed how I see childcare. I know what it feels like to drop your child off - the trust, the guilt, the questions, and the hope that they are truly safe, nurtured, and seen.
That’s why Think Big isn’t just a centre to me - it’s personal.
I’ve been on both sides. As a parent and growing up in a family deeply involved in childcare, I’ve seen what works… and what doesn’t. Combined with my background as a Chartered Accountant, I bring both heart and structure into everything we do.
At our core are simple but non-negotiable values - respect, hard work, and strong relationships. Safety always comes first. Every family should feel complete confidence in the care their child receives.
We focus on creating a space where children feel they belong, build confidence and independence, and learn through meaningful, play-based experiences - while still having the freedom to just be children.
Our team is everything. I’m committed to building a culture where educators feel valued and supported - because when they stay, children thrive through consistent, trusting relationships.
We also believe in true partnership with families. Open, honest communication isn’t optional - it’s essential.
At Think Big Early Learning, we don’t just prepare children for school - we prepare them for life. Every child is supported to grow as a capable “big thinker” through creativity, connection, and wellbeing.
My goal? For this to feel like a second home - a place where children are safe, happy, and excited to learn… and where families feel confident, they’ve made the right choice.

Safety

Safety

Your Child's Safety Comes First
At Think Big Early Learning, we understand that one of the biggest decisions a family makes is choosing who they can trust to care for their child.
Your child's safety, wellbeing and security are our highest priorities.
We have created Think Big with safety in mind, from the moment families arrive at the centre through to every experience, meal, transition and interaction throughout the day.

🔐 A Secure Environment
Our purpose-built centre is designed to provide children with a safe, secure and welcoming environment where they can learn and explore with confidence.
We have secure entry and exit points, CCTV throughout common areas and onsite parking, providing additional security and peace of mind for families.
Our centre is also a standalone service with a secure service road, helping create a safe and controlled environment for children and families.

👀 Active Supervision
Our educators understand that effective supervision is about more than simply being in the same room as children.
Educators position themselves strategically, actively observe children's play and interactions, anticipate potential risks and remain responsive to children's individual needs.
We know our children, their routines and their individual behaviours, allowing us to respond quickly when support is needed.

💛 Safe, Trusted Educators
Every educator at Think Big is carefully selected and required to meet the relevant qualification, screening and Working with Children Check requirements.
Our team receives ongoing training and professional development to ensure they understand their responsibilities around child safety, supervision, wellbeing, emergency procedures, first aid and safeguarding children.
We are committed to creating a culture where children are heard, respected and protected.

🩷 Your Child Is Known
We believe that knowing your child well is an important part of keeping them safe.
Our educators take the time to understand each child's individual needs, routines, behaviours, communication style, medical requirements and family circumstances.
We work closely with families to ensure important information is communicated clearly and consistently between home and the centre.

🚨 Prepared for Emergencies
Our team maintains appropriate emergency and first-aid training and regularly reviews emergency procedures and risk management practices.
We have procedures in place for situations including medical emergencies, illness, accidents, evacuation and lockdown, and educators are familiar with their roles and responsibilities.

🦉 Safety Is Everyone's Responsibility
At Think Big, child safety is not just a policy it is part of our everyday culture.
From our educators and leadership team to our owner, everyone has a responsibility to create an environment where children feel safe, respected, listened to and protected.
And with our owner onsite, families have the added reassurance of knowing there is always a familiar member of our leadership team present and actively involved in the centre.

Centre philosophy

Centre philosophy

Our Philosophy
Little minds. Big possibilities
.

At Think Big Early Learning Centre, we believe every child is capable of extraordinary things. We see children as curious, capable, confident and unique individuals, each with their own personality, interests, strengths, culture and way of learning.

For us, early childhood is more than preparing children for school. It is about giving them the confidence to explore, the freedom to wonder, the courage to try and the security to know they always belong.

🏡 A Home Away From Home

We want every child who walks through our doors to feel safe, known, loved and valued.

We create a genuine home away from home where children are welcomed by familiar faces, supported by warm relationships and surrounded by calm, inviting spaces. We understand that children learn best when they feel emotionally secure, so building trusting relationships is at the heart of everything we do.

From the moment your child arrives, we want them to feel:

“I belong here. I am safe here. I am important here.”

🦉 Wise, Nurturing & Observant Educators

Our owl represents something very special to us. Owls are wise, observant and nurturing — qualities we value deeply in our educators.

Our educators take the time to truly know each child. We listen to their ideas, observe their interests, celebrate their achievements and respond to their individual needs. Rather than expecting every child to learn in the same way, we follow their curiosity and use their interests as opportunities for meaningful learning.

We believe the most powerful learning happens when children are given the opportunity to lead, explore, question, create, problem-solve and discover.

🌱 Learning Through Wonder, Play & Discovery

We believe children are naturally driven to learn.

Through play, creativity, exploration, movement, relationships and real-world experiences, we encourage children to ask questions, make connections and develop a genuine love of learning.

Our environments and experiences are intentionally designed to encourage:

Curiosity and imagination
Independence and confidence
Creativity and problem-solving
Communication and relationships
Resilience and persistence
A strong sense of identity and belonging

We follow the Early Years Learning Framework, using it to guide meaningful experiences that support every child's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.

💛 Families Are Part of Our Think Big Family

We believe families are children's first and most important teachers.

The relationship between families and educators is incredibly important to us. We value your knowledge, your culture, your experiences and the things that make your child unique.

We encourage open communication and genuine partnerships, working alongside families to understand each child and create consistency between home and our centre.

You know your child best. We are here to listen.

🌈 Every Child Belongs

At Think Big, everyone belongs.

We celebrate diversity and respect every child's individual identity, culture, family, language, abilities and experiences. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every child has equitable opportunities to participate, learn, develop friendships and achieve their potential.

We work collaboratively with families, support services and external professionals when required to ensure every child receives the support they need to thrive.

🚀 Think Big, Be Brave, Be You

Our philosophy is simple at heart:

We want children to believe in themselves.

We want them to feel confident enough to ask questions, brave enough to try something new, proud of who they are and excited about what they can become.

Because we don't just want children to think big about what they can achieve one day.

We want them to think big today.

Our philosophy guides our everyday interactions, environments, curriculum and decision-making and reflects our commitment to the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework.
