Programs

Programs

Our programs and activities are designed to spark curiosity and foster a love of learning. Using an inquiry-driven approach, children naturally explore, wonder, question, and make sense of the world around them. All extracurricular activities are included at no extra cost.

  • Intergenerational Program: Kinder children (3–4 years) engage in meaningful interactions with residents from a nearby retirement village. These shared learning experiences are thoughtfully aligned with the children’s themes, promoting connection across generations.
  • Community Engagement: Children visit local shopping centres, artwork and sculptures, wetlands, and enjoy bush kinder and nature walks, expanding their understanding of the community and environment while promoting exploration.
  • Music Classes: Through our Musical Minds program, children from nursery to kinder are introduced to real instruments, allowing them to engage with music in a hands-on, immersive way that nurtures creativity and self-expression.
  • Sports and Yoga: We offer rotational programs in sports, yoga and dance - promoting physical development, coordination, mindfulness, teamwork, and resilience throughout the year.
  • Cultural Events: Our cultural events, like Bollywood dance classes with costumes and music, celebrate diverse traditions and engage children in fun, educational experiences that broaden their understanding of the world.
  • Special Events: We host a variety of exciting special events, including slime parties, face painting, and seasonal activities, giving children memorable experiences that spark joy and creativity.
  • Cooking and Gardening: Weekly cooking classes range from sensory exploration in the nursery to hands-on food preparation for older children. Our outdoor herb and veggie gardens offer opportunities to explore and develop an appreciation for fresh, healthy food, with indigenous plants promoting cultural awareness and a connection to the land.

About the curriculum

About the curriculum

STRONG Beginnings Curriculum

We believe every child’s learning journey is unique. That is why our highly qualified teaching teams customise Story House’s STRONG Beginnings Curriculum to each individual child’s learning and development needs. Our learning approach is based on educational research where every day your child can develop 21st-century skills being prepared for school and life.

This tailored approach nurtures children’s learning and growth as they develop skills such as socialisation, emotional regulation, building resilience, and understanding the importance of caring for their body and brain through our mindfulness and nutrition programs.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Our talented in-house chef, Darinka, infuses her Serbian culinary heritage into a diverse menu, featuring culturally inspired meals like chicken zucchini meatballs and homemade pizzas. We offer halal options, along with a variety of proteins and vegetarian dishes to cater to all dietary needs.

Cooking activities are a key part of our weekly schedule, allowing children to actively participate and develop valuable food education skills. From sensory exploration in the nursery to hands-on food preparation for older children, cooking is a fun and engaging way for children to learn.

Our outdoor herb and veggie gardens provide exciting opportunities for children to connect with fresh, healthy food. Through these gardens, they gain an appreciation for nature, with indigenous plants fostering cultural awareness and a deeper connection to the land.
