Our play-based kindergarten program supports children to learn, explore and grow in a safe and engaging environment. A key focus on body safety and emotional regulation helps children develop the skills to understand their feelings, build positive relationships and participate confidently in learning.

Inclusion and school transition
Regular community excursions enrich children's learning experiences while fostering a strong sense of connection to their local area. Children are supported in their transition to school through our school buddy program with the local primary school, helping them build familiarity and confidence in a future learning environment.

Our indoor and outdoor spaces are designed so children of all abilities can join in fully. And as a centre at the heart of one of Melbourne’s most diverse communities, we celebrate the cultures, languages and traditions of every family - and weave them into daily life at the centre.

Our educators
Your child is cared for by a stable team of qualified early childhood professionals who are passionate about creating nurturing, engaging and inclusive learning environments. As Council employees, our educators are the heart of our service and the most important element in delivering high-quality education and care for children and families. Our programs are led by experienced professionals holding Bachelor, Diploma or Certificate III qualifications in Early Childhood Education and Care.

To ensure the highest standards of safety and wellbeing, all team members hold a current Working with Children Check or Victorian Institute of Teaching registration and maintain up-to-date qualifications in First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management, Child Protection, and other mandatory professional learning requirements. Through their expertise, dedication and genuine care, our educators support each child to feel safe, confident, valued and ready to learn.

Fresh, healthy food every day
At Bubup Nairm, we provide freshly cooked, nutritious morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea prepared on site each day by chef Lucky. Our meals expose children to a broad range of flavours, textures, ingredients and cultures while supporting healthy growth, development and wellbeing. All dietary requirements, allergies and food intolerances are carefully catered for, ensuring every child can safely enjoy mealtimes. Our menus are assessed by the Victorian Government's Healthy Eating Advisory Service (HEAS), displayed weekly at the centre, and family feedback is always welcome. These initiatives form part of our commitment to children's health and wellbeing through the Achievement Program.
