Willy Wagtails is our daughter’s home away from home. Our daughter has been going here for almost 2 years and we could not be happier with the love and care that is shown toward her, her academic growth and the genuine warmth that is felt when you walk into the centre for daily drop off. It is clearly visible that every single educator here has a genuine love for their job, they want to be there and so does our daughter, she gets so excited when she knows it’s daycare day. I can not recommend Willy Wagtails highly enough, We stumbled onto a goldmine, we have one more year there before our daughter is off to school and leaving the centre will be like leaving family. Thank you to all of the educators for caring and teaching our daughter like she is your own.
About Us:
Welcome to Willy Wagtails Garden Early Learning Centre (Fairy Meadow), a place where children develop and grow in a happy, safe and educating environment. Children aged 2-5 years enjoy exploring and learning through both planned activities as well as spontaneous play based experiences. Educators use the current national ‘Early Years Learning Framework’ as their structure for building our high quality program. Our School Readiness Program caters for all children eligible to go to ‘Big School’ in the following year and runs every day of the week.
Willy Wagtail’s Garden Early Learning Centre is a 28 place Centre. Our opening hours are 7.30am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday. We are also a sun smart centre. We provide free sunsmart hats on enrolment. It has been run by the current owner Aruna Honavar since June 2011. Aruna has a Diploma in Children Services and has twenty years experience in Childcare.
Environment:
Our multipurpose centre is designed for maximum flexibility, accommodating for a wide range of activities. It creates opportunities for Educators to offer diverse and evolving layouts and exciting spatial use. Our room is set up using an assortment of resources which support the individual interests and educational needs of children, as well as promote our Interest Areas. Our large outside playground has an emphasis on our natural world, with native trees and plants creating a perfect shade barrier from the sun throughout the day. Children are encouraged to explore our vegetable garden, get creative in the sandpit, as well as discover the multitude of further outdoor equipment added to the environment on a daily basis.
Staff:
We have both trained and untrained Educators, with some Educators undergoing training. All of our Educators are experienced and most of them have been at the Centre for an extended time. As some of the staff are mothers themselves and they are all very warm and loving, the children feel at home with us. We have more than the required number of Educators on the premises to ensure a high quality of care.
We believe in giving individual care to all our children by understanding and responding to them as individuals. We believe that to be able to maximise their learning potential, children need to feel loved and settled just like at home. We would like all the children graduating from our Centre to have an additional advantage in terms of knowledge as they go to Big School.
