About Nido Early School Iluka

 • We actively involve members of our service community, including police and firefighter families, to support safety education.
 • We proudly support Tiny Tots, a charity organisation that collects baby goods and essential items for families experiencing hardship.
 • Children regularly participate in walks throughout the local community, exploring nearby streets, parks, and natural spaces.
 • Our Beach Kinder program connects children with local lifesavers to learn about beach and water safety.

At Nido Iluka Early School, we provide exceptional education and care for children from six weeks to school age. Our approach focuses on creating warm, nurturing environments where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn. Guided by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we design programs that encourage creativity, cultural understanding, and confidence through hands-on experiences.

Safety is central to everything we do. We follow national child-safe standards, maintain clear supervision, and provide ongoing training for our educators to ensure children feel secure and cared for.

Our programs include wellbeing initiatives, sustainability practices, and community connections that enrich learning and foster a sense of belonging.

Our environments are thoughtfully designed to spark imagination and exploration. Indoors, children enjoy art ateliers and quiet spaces for storytelling, while outdoors they discover climbing areas, water play, and natural elements that encourage a connection to nature.

Community is at the heart of Nido Iluka. We collaborate closely with families and local community services to create meaningful learning experiences that support children’s growth and sense of belonging.

At Nido, every day is an opportunity to nurture confident, capable learners through safe, inspiring environments and meaningful experiences. Guided by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we turn everyday moments into lasting learning that shapes each child’s future.

Safety

Safety

Safety matters every day.
Every day, safety comes first at Nido. Across all our early schools, we work tirelessly to uphold the highest standards in safety. This commitment underpins every decision we make and every interaction we have with children and families.

We have embedded the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations across all our practices to ensure safe behaviours, environments, and accountability are part of everything we do.

Strong supervision and ongoing training
All Educators participate in an 8-week active supervision program, along with regular training and safety alerts. This ensures teams are vigilant, responsive, and prepared for every situation.

Safe design, technology and electronic devices
Our early school layouts are designed for maximum visibility and supervision. CCTV is installed externally at most of our early schools to enhance security. For the protection of all children, the use of personal devices to take photos or videos of children is prohibited for all Nido team members, students, volunteers, and visitors.

Rigorous recruitment and compliance
Our recruitment process includes enhanced screening, comprehensive reference checks, and clear expectations around child safety. Working with Children Checks are strictly managed and continuously monitored.

Professional learning and guidance
Educators receive regular training through leading Registered Training Organisations. Policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect current legislation and best practice, ensuring everyone understands the behaviours and standards expected.

Comprehensive health and safety
We maintain secure single-point entry systems, and our staff are trained in first aid, asthma, anaphylaxis care, and food safety. We follow strict medication management protocols, a Cancer Council-accredited Sun Smart policy, and promote hygiene through engaging activities. Our schools take allergies seriously, including nut awareness, to help keep every child safe and included at mealtimes. Any incidents are documented and promptly communicated with families.

Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement

We value strong partnerships with families and actively involve parents in their child’s learning journey. From enrolment, we collaborate with families to understand routines, interests, and goals, tailoring programs to meet individual needs.

Communication is open and transparent, with regular updates, photos, and videos shared through our Playground App. Families are encouraged to participate in events and classroom activities, ensuring they feel connected to their child’s learning every day.

The team at Nido Iluka have been absolutely exceptional since we first placed our 6month old son there in 2023. He is now 4, and our 1 year old daughter is there too and I honestly cannot speak more highly of the care, support, and friendliness of the educators.

The educators Nat, Bella, Jade and Anupa as well as so many others are fantastic with my son; from navigating emotions, encouraging creativity and respecting family values, to being my son’s favourite friendly faces each day.

The educators in the nursery have been incredible with managing our 1 year old’s sleep (or sleep regressions) sicknesses, social development and motor skills. Their attention to little details of her learning journey reassures us constantly that she is in such safe and caring hands. Jaimi, Klaudia and Brenda have been amazing and our daughter lights up whenever she sees them.

Denise, Nicki and Sarah are instrumental in managing not only a wonderful team of educators but also creating such a kind, caring and supportive environment to assist not only the children but our family as well. Thank you so much to everyone for all your help over the last few years!

Our little one has been with Nido Iluka for close to two years. The educators and staff at the facility is exceptional. We have always felt like our son's needs were met and lots of care was taken to give him the best experience possible. There has always been very clear and prompt communications from the educators and staff which make us feel at ease knowing he is in very capable hands.

Not only are the educators great at working with the children, in our experience they take the time to make every child feel special and cared for individually.

Every Educator and Class Lead have been amazing - no faults can be found.

Special mentions

Katie, Caiomhe and Jennifer - a big thanks for the care you have given our boy. What a pleasure seeing him run up and hug you in the mornings. He is always happy for me to head off when you are there.

Vera and Niki - you too have played a big part in his life. Although he sees you less now, he still gravitates towards your kind and gentle nature.

Ash and Kiara - You know you make a big impression in a little life when they come home telling all sorts of stories with a smile on their face.

Thanks to the whole team at Nido Iluka - you have a very important job which you do impeccably well.

We are so happy with Nido Iluka! 😊

Our son has been attending since he was just 4 months old, as we don’t have any immediate family nearby. Naturally, we were quite nervous at first about leaving him, but from the very beginning it was obvious how happy and settled he was. The staff are incredibly warm, caring and friendly, which made the transition so much easier for us.

We would especially like to mention Klaudia, Jaimi and Brenda, who have been absolutely wonderful with our son. He absolutely loves Klaudia in particular! His face genuinely lights up whenever he sees her, and it is so lovely to see the bond they have built. She is so warm, caring and attentive, and we can see how much he adores her. It gives us such peace of mind knowing he has someone he feels so comfortable and happy with. He also gets so excited to see Jaimi and Brenda, and his face lights up whenever he sees them too. We are incredibly grateful for the love, care and attention they all give him every day.

Now that we have both returned to work, we have complete trust and confidence that our son is in the best hands. The educators always organise fun, engaging and educational activities, and he is genuinely so happy to be dropped off each day — which means so much to us as parents.

Denise, the Executive Service Manager, is also so lovely, warm and welcoming. Sarah and Nicola greet us each day with such warm and friendly vibes, which creates such a lovely atmosphere as soon as we walk through the doors.

We couldn’t be happier with Nido Iluka. It really feels like our son is cared for by people who genuinely know him, care about him and want the best for him. We feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful daycare and would highly recommend Nido Iluka to any family. ❤️

G + T

We have been so grateful for the care our family has received from Nido Iluka. Both of our children have attended/currently attending and it has been so special knowing that every educator knew them personally and understood who they are and what interested them.

My youngest has additional needs as he is profoundly deaf and uses devices to access sound. The willingness of every member of staff to learn, support and take on advice from other professionals or myself has been outstanding.

I could not name one educator in this centre who does not deserve the highest of praise, but special mention goes to Ash, who always goes out of her way to communicate how my kids (both) days have been. All our early morning staff who make drop off a breeze, serving breakfast and giving morning hugs can never be underated. All the room leaders for my deaf bubba especially Jamie, Katie and Alison, having a quick learning curve and adapting as best they can.

The genuine relationships the educators build with children and families are what make this centre so special.
