Management not only run the centre of poorly but are awful to parents. During my time at FTGCC I have I overheard management speaking poorly about other families, speaking negatively about staff and have seen parents in tears based on Ingrid’s treatment of them. If you have a disagreement then you’re told you can leave if you don’t like. If you don’t answer personal questions not relevant to your child attending the centre, then management will take the opportunity to question any family members who pick up your kid until they get the information they want. If your child is sick, dr Ingrid decides when thy can come back. I have also observed management openly and very loudly discussing child protection involvement in earshot of parents picking up their kids which is a huge breach of privacy and shows a general lack of care for those involved when they should have been shown compassion and professionalism. If not for the staff, particularly Amber and Hannah, I would have pulled my kid out of this centre. Staff are mostly friendly and great with the kids but to be honest, it’s not worth the hassle of having to deal with management who seem to enjoy making life unnecessarily difficult or the risk of your personal information being shared within the centre or discussed amongst staff like it’s gossip which I have seen on a consistent basis over my 3 years with FTGCC Don’t trust the good reviews either- parents were pressured to leave positive reviews last year (probably to drown out the negative ones). One star for the staff and one star because the centre itself is quite nice. Wish we went elsewhere

Could not be happier with our experience at this centre! My son gets treated like a member of the family there! The staff and owners go above and beyond with the children! If you’re looking for a centre in FTG you’ve come across the best one here! 💯

Ingrid is content with indirectly punishing the children of the parents that may raise a concern. I raised a concern that my son’s stomach had multiple long scratches across his chest and stomach with no incident raised. Little did I know this would put our family on the naughty Ingrid list. She has zero ability to listen constructively to parents. She instead prefers to use a condescending, obnoxious and self righteous approach.

I’m not a review guy.. but this childcare deserves to know how good they are! Dropping your children off *2 young girls under 3* can be absolutely daunting but they have been with us every step of the way and it’s just so simple now that my children have enrolled at Ferntree Gully Childrens centre. My children have been treated like family. I am beyond thankful to every single one of the lovely staff for the amazing job they do. I haven’t had a single bad day while at this centre and it’s such a great change of pace from all the crap we’ve had to deal with at other centres. If you’re looking for a new childcare … THAT ACTUALLY CARES!!! this is the one for you! We couldn’t be happier with Ferntree Gully Children’s Centre. My son has been attending for four years and, from the very beginning, he has felt welcomed, safe, supported, and has had so much fun. The educators and staff have worked closely with me to address his behaviour, maintaining regular communication, celebrating his progress, and sharing effective strategies. All staff are friendly, caring, and genuinely invested in the children’s wellbeing and development. The centre itself is clean, bright, and engaging, with fantastic outdoor play areas. They also organise plenty of incursions and fun activities, which my son loves. I highly recommend Ferntree Gully Children’s Centre to parents looking for a place where their child can feel safe, happy, supported, and encouraged to grow while having fun. My son is off to school next year and, while he’s excited, he’ll miss his friends, the educators, and his time in 4-year-old kinder.

My family have been a part of the Ferntree Gully Children’s Centre for over 3 years. I have nothing but praise and gratitude for all of the Staff and Educators that have cared and encouraged my girls to shine. The first few years of a child’s life is so important for their development and growth. Choosing someone other than yourself to have the responsibility to aid this development is a huge decision. Please know that every experience that my family has had with Ferntree Gully Children’s Centre has been nothing but positive. In fact the opportunities, activities and love that is provided to all children here, is over and above of anything we could have wished for. Every staff member has, and continues to be marvellous. All of the staff at FGCC has been part of the caring team for many years and turn up everyday with a friendly, honest and fun-filled attitude. My girls love attending everyday, and return home with endless stories of exciting activities and fun they’ve had. After timelessly searching for a daycare centre that was right for us we found Ferntree gully children’s centre. This centre is so warm and welcoming, and all the staff have a demeanour to match. Our son comes home bright and happy, replicating the care he has received for the day. I have full trust in the staff, ensuring they provide my son with warm, caring and compassionate learning each and every day.

My daughter started at ferntree gully children’s centre just over a month ago and I have nothing but high praise for this centre. All educators have such passion and drive to give all children the best support, education and care. I have nothing but gratitude, appreciation and love to share with FTG children’s centre. I have worked in Early childhood for 20 years. I have been a director and area manager of numerous large services, have put my first child through care for 5 years but the thought of enrolling my new 12 month old into care, while I no longer work directly with a service, was absolutely terrifying, given my knowledge and experience in the sector. I searched almost every service within a 10km radius, including those that are rated exceeding in the sector, and the only service that made me feel comfortable enough to trust the care, love and nurture of my baby was FTG children’s centre. Their child centric approach is what I was searching for. I needed my child to be cared for as an individual with individual needs. I needed confidence my child’s safety and wellbeing was of the upmost priority. I do not care for daily photos and stories, as this meant an educator would be spending time on an iPad or computer rather than with my child, to get this done for every individual child. I needed to drop my child off happy and pick him up happy. I needed communication and communication that’s honest and transparent. I cannot fault this centre in any of those needs. Ingrid the director, has been honest and open the entire process. Ingrid has ensured all educators responsible for my child are aware of his individual needs and routine, the educators and teachers have demonstrated personalised care, compassion and nurture daily, and my baby demonstrates it’s his experience as well while I’m not there as he’s always happy to return and the sneak peaks I get through the window before collecting him. I cannot commend and recommend the service enough. FTG team, You have made a terrifying experience less scary and have shown me there are still amazing and well deserving of appreciation educators out there that need to be celebrated! Thank you for loving and caring for not only my baby boy but our family!
