Since Katrina left the staff turnover has been unreal. Also parents have been pulling their children out. I pulled my son out not long after Trina left. Wouldn't see the director til around 9am, often the sign in was down with the reception unattended.

I would not recommend this particular service to any educators who goes above and beyond with their level of care, dedication and commitment.

Katrina and her team are absolutely amazing. Our son really enjoys kindy and is learning so much from his educators. They are so passionate and caring and it’s so lovely to see. Absolutely send your child here if you want the best of the best.

Story House Windsor is an incredible childcare centre. On occassion, I need to drop off and pick up my neice and I can't fault the facility, staff or care that she is provided.

If your kid has additional needs, Avoid sending them to this centre. For medical reasons, my son needs apple juice. There’s been many of problems. He dribbles a lot and because of that he has a rash on his chest from them, not changing his shirt enough. He has specialised shoes to support his ankles and orthotics in his shoes On One of the occasions he got a splinter in his foot when his shoes weren’t even meant to be off. What did it for me is picking him up to see both his bottles on the trolley with his Apple juice had gone bad I went to look for his big bottle of apple juice in the fridge then Was told it was on the shelf when I looked at it it was nearly ready to explode I had emails with the centre manager which I felt were very rude she contradicted herself in the email so many times one of the emails stated that the 2 L apple juice had only been opened on the Monday. My son doesn’t drink 2 L of apple juice in not even two days of being there. Not only that she said that it was safe to leave the apple juice out of the fridge for 3 to 4 hours I contacted Woolworths and that is not the case. Then she went to say that my son wouldn’t be able to have what he medically requires to keep him hydrated if that’s the case. When he’s at home, I put lots of ice in his drink. I’ve never had a problem with him not drinking it for hours but if I did I would just tip it out and refill it when I felt it had gone warm. It’s common sense. No one has common sense at this centre. Might I add that I have pulled my son out he will not be Returning I now have to wait two weeks before I can get him into another daycare because they aren’t negotiable on the two weeks policy unlike What the daycare we were at before did for us. We were able to enroll in story house pretty much straightaway, but they won’t do the same thing back. You would think that they would try everything possible to help when their staff are neglecting your kid but they don’t please, please avoid this centre

It’s difficult to write a negative review for Storyhouse, especially after my daughter spent 2.5 years there and genuinely loved attending. However, as a parent, I believe nothing is more important than the safety of our children, and unfortunately, this is where the centre falls short. Over the course of six months, I raised concerns twice about the front door remaining open and the key code not being updated—a code that hadn’t been changed during my daughter’s entire 2.5-year attendance. These requests were ignored. Despite being reassured by the operations manager in October that the code would be updated, it still remains unchanged three months later. What I find to be unsettling is the centre’s apparent lack of urgency regarding these safety measures. An open front door allows anyone to enter the facility unchecked—a significant risk, especially with a private mental health facility directly across the road. To add to this, a parent’s car was stolen from the car park during drop-off. I also feel it’s important to highlight that many of the five-star reviews for this centre were incentivised through prize raffles, which I believe skews the perception of the centre’s actual quality. Since moving to another childcare centre, the difference has been staggering. The level of care, communication, and overall happiness of the educators at the new facility is worlds apart. It’s a reminder that trusting your instincts as a parent is essential. While it was heartbreaking to pull my daughter away from her friends and the relationships she had built, I’m confident it was the right decision. If something doesn’t feel right, trust your gut—it’s always worth prioritising your child’s safety and wellbeing.

This is a review for the Kindergarten Mirri room at Story House, Windsor. Let me first state that the ACECQA Exceeding Expectations label was received by this centre in 2019. It is used liberally in advertising, but truth be told this facility leaves much to be desired. Having put my son in 4 daycares before this one in different parts of Queensland, I've never had an issue getting an update on what he ate for the day. This was especially important to us being vegetarians. When asked what the policy was to ensure no cross contamination, I was repeatedly told "we've never had accidents". Within a month, my child had a non vegetarian meal and no one could verify if it happened or not. It hurt me as a parent immensely as I had been afraid of this very thing from the start and had voiced it numerous times only to be ignored. My husband and I had a sitdown and the manager nodded along to do better. But that was the first sign: a daycare that doesn't understand the adage that it is better to be safe than sorry is not one that can be trusted. Despite agreeing to update on Storypark what my son had for lunch - who only attends 3 days a week - I have had to beg for this information at least 6 times in 5 months. In person, over the phone, via email. The final nail in the coffin though, was when I asked the educator in the room - Miss Yan - for an update on my son - a reasonable request by a fee paying parent, right? What I was told was my son was too quiet, doing his own thing and never reached out so even they didn't know. I was told he hadn't formed trusting relationships with the adults in the room but was fine with peers . This was told to me as "a matter of concern" and I was told to get his hearing checked, due to him being unresponsive. Putting the onus on a 3.5yo to feel comfortable with his teachers felt incredibly lazy to me. We rely on teachers to bring out the best in a child and work with their strengths, which was clearly not the case here. Still, I took this ECT's feedback, and got my son assessed. The GP said he was perfectly fine and slowly my son revealed he didn't speak to the teachers because they were busy. I have good reason to believe my son was discriminated against, for no fault of his, except that he was introverted/quiet. The teacher didnt take him to Bush Kinder outings, didn't include his artwork near the entrance, never had pictures of him doing art work in Storypark - he would always be by himself in the sandpit. I didn't raise any of this trusting the teacher was dividing her time and working with each child. On his last day, when I asked for a copy of his work in the last six months, I was given nothing. Zero evidence of any work for six months at a centre when you pay $180 a day is ridiculous and also speaks to the callous nature of the ECT, who is so sure her disregard and incompetence will be protected by upper management. She didn't say goodbye, no best of luck, nothing. She knew we were leaving 2 weeks ahead of time. How toxic of an educator to behave this way to a 3.5 year old? How neglected and unsafe my child must have felt if this is the way she behaved in my presence with my child? No wonder he never approached her. As a general observation too, most teachers in the room don't greet kids, make them feel welcome, or show a nurturing spirit. They're disengaged and busy. This review is to affirm any parent whose gut is saying something is off with this centre. If your child is quiet, an introvert and if you as a parent seek some transparency and clarity on what you are paying for, avoid this centre at all costs. There is no way a pre prep child can thrive in such an environment.
