Our family's experience with this kindergarten was extremely disappointing.

Our son was ultimately removed from the centre because of behavioural issues. At the time, he was experiencing significant distress while attending. We were deeply concerned about what was causing this and whether the environment and support he was receiving were contributing to his behaviour.

During his time at the centre, there were occasions where he was separated from the other children and placed outside on his own. We were concerned that this approach was not addressing the reasons he was struggling or providing him with the support he needed.

Since leaving, our son has gradually told us about experiences that we find deeply concerning. This includes bullying by other children that he says was not adequately addressed, as well as occasions where he says he was left outside by himself or did not receive help from staff when he needed it. These are his accounts of what occurred, and hearing them after his departure has been extremely upsetting for us as parents.

Perhaps the most significant part of our experience is what happened after he left.

Our son moved to another kindergarten and the difference has been remarkable. He loves attending his new centre. He is happy, settled and doing well socially and emotionally. The significant behavioural problems we were dealing with at his previous kindergarten have not continued in his new environment.

For us, that contrast raised serious questions about whether enough was done to understand why he was struggling before the decision was made to remove him.

There were also problems after his departure. Approximately six weeks later, and despite multiple requests and assurances that they would be returned, we were still waiting for our son's belongings. This added further frustration to an already very disappointing experience.

We entrusted this centre with our son's wellbeing. Based on our family's experience, we would not make the same decision again.

I hope management takes this feedback seriously and considers whether children displaying significant distress could be better supported, and whether greater attention could be given to understanding what is driving a child's behaviour before concluding that removing the child is the appropriate outcome.

Cool beans is the best childcare centre on the Gold Coast by far. We travel 20 minutes from Broadbeach Waters to come here because of the size of the classrooms the huge outdoor space and the kind attentive carers. If my daughter or any of the other kids is struggling with drop off there is always someone there to give the child one on one attention. I couldn’t be happier with this centre

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Our daughter just graduated from Kool Beanz - Suns in Carrara, and we can't express enough how amazing this centre is! Our only regret is not joining sooner — we wish she had spent all her day care days here.

This place is truly a Disneyland for kindy kids — there's always something exciting to do, and boredom is simply not an option. Our daughter loved it so much that she never wanted to come home!

Throughout our time here, the educators were incredible. Special shout out to Miss Sarah, Miss Michelle, and Miss Nat for their dedication and care. In her final year, Miss Sarah helped her learn so much and get ready for big school — and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Thank you to all the staff at Kool Beanz for giving us the best kindy experience ever! ❤️
