My almost two year old son started at Monash ELC a few weeks ago and I’m honestly so impressed and happy with this centre. It’s so well run, clean and all the staff are fantastic. Natasha and her team are great to deal with and they keep me well informed and up to date on how my son is going through the day, making me feel at ease. I love that they learn every day life skills (Montessori method) and it’s not only just standard play. The outdoor area is huge and mostly under cover, there’s gardening, sandpits, play equipment etc my son loves it! If you’re hesitant to take the leap like I was and send your child to daycare, this is the place to go!

About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

Founded by Dr. Maria Montessori, Montessori education emphasizes individualized learning and children's innate desire to explore and learn.

Prepared Environment: Every detail of the environment at Monash Early Learning Centre is meticulously planned to cater to children's needs and interests, fostering exploration, discovery, and creativity.

Five Areas of Learning:

  1. Practical Life: Utilizing real-life objects, children develop skills like pouring, sorting, and food preparation, enhancing concentration, independence, and fine motor coordination.
  2. Sensorial: Materials designed to engage each sense individually, aiding in sensory exploration and perception.
  3. Mathematics: Hands-on learning from basic concepts to advanced mathematical operations, nurturing the child's mathematical understanding.
  4. Language: Phonetic exploration through games, rhymes, and tactile experiences, leading to literacy development.
  5. Culture: Explores geography, history, nature, and science, fostering a sense of belonging and appreciation for the world. Creative arts are integrated for self-expression.

Integration with Early Years Learning Framework: In addition to Montessori principles, Monash Early Learning Centre incorporates the Early Years Learning Framework to provide comprehensive educational experiences.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Providing healthy and nutritious meals is a cornerstone of our program. Our dedicated cook ensures that every meal is not only delicious but also nutritionally balanced, catering specifically to the needs of young children. We believe that fostering healthy eating habits from an early age is crucial, and we are committed to creating a positive food environment that encourages children to explore new foods and make healthy choices.

Food preparation is more than just a practical life skill; it's a valuable learning experience. Through activities like washing hands and food prep, children not only learn self-care but also develop a sense of independence. Moreover, these activities enhance fine motor skills and promote social skills such as grace and courtesy when sharing food with friends. Regardless of age, food preparation is an enjoyable activity that imparts essential life skills.

Our daily menu covers all meals and snacks, including breakfast, morning tea, cooked lunch, afternoon tea, and a late snack. We ensure variety by incorporating foods from different food groups like fruits, vegetables, dairy, grains, and proteins, ensuring a well-rounded diet for the children. Milk options, including full cream and light, are available according to the daily menu, with water readily accessible throughout the day to promote hydration.

To keep families informed, we prominently display our weekly menus in each room and maintain a daily menu board at the entry. We understand the importance of catering to children with allergies or special dietary requirements and happily accommodate these needs. Additionally, we actively support initiatives such as "Munch & Move" by NSW Health, promoting healthy habits and lifestyles among children.

I can’t thank Monash enough for the love and care they give to my daughter. Since day one, the educators have been incredibly supportive, patient, and affectionate. They’ve helped her settle in at her own pace and always keep us updated with how she’s doing, which gives us so much peace of mind. She is always happy to go to the centre, and it’s been beautiful to see how much she’s grown in confidence, language, and independence thanks to the wonderful team at Monash. Thank you for creating such a safe, nurturing, and happy environment for our little one! We truly feel part of a caring community. ❤️

Incredible centre. Consistent staff who care very much about each child. The owner director is outstanding and works face-to-face on the ground with community. Clean well maintained facility. Great programs with local community providers coming on-site for extra activities. Always an eco-lens and strong community focus. Highly recommend.
