Our high-quality, play based preschool curriculum is delivered by Bachelor qualified Early Childhood Teachers. Our teachers tailor their programs to ensure all children develop the confidence and social and emotional skills needed for a smooth transition to school. Through play, our Early Childhood Teachers facilitate children’s learning of important language, literacy, numeracy and creative skills.

Goodstart Early Learning uses the StoryPark app to connect with parents throughout the day. The educators upload photos and stories to the secure app, which parents can access anytime and anywhere to track their child’s progress.
The approach at the centre is very much based around partnership between families and educators. The educators work with the parents and carers to build strong relationships. They develop trust so the children can feel safe and secure while at the centre. Parents are also encouraged to share their insights and feedback with educators to add depth to the relationship.
The educators observe the children every day and tailor the program around their observations. They share these with parents, so they can feel connected to their child’s progress and also provide feedback that will further enhance their child’s learning experience.

Hello, my name is Vanessa Rameh, I have over 28 years of experience in the childcare industry and over 11 years as a Director, therefore I bring with me a wealth of knowledge.
I like to provide pedagogical leadership to ensure the provision of high quality care that is vibrant, interesting and varied, ensuring effective leadership, management, direction and support to staff and families with communication and team work being a key priority.
I am also a busy mum of five, having two girls of my own and three step children.
I believe in providing holistic, natural and relaxed home like environments for our children to explore and learn within.
I am excited to embark on this wonderful journey at Goodstart Blackwood and look forward to getting to know all our beautiful children and families and meeting new families in the local area.

We have really appreciated the support and care of our son. Having staff that are there consistently everyday is a huge plus. This has allowed our son to develop relationships where he feels confident, safe and secure. We go to work knowing he is with regular staff that know him well. There are consistent updates from management and staff and transparency across changes that may be taking place. There also appears to be a real strong support for ongoing education and learning for staff. Thank you

Such a fantastic Centre! I'd visited a number of centres in the Southern Hills for my nine month old, and Goodstart Blackwood was a clear cut above the rest. I'm not sure how much of it was due to their not-for-profit status, which is a rarity in the childcare world (something I hadn't previously realised) vs their own practices, but their quality and standards seemed much better than most others I'd looked into. My positive opinion of the Centre has only strengthened in the 13 months since my child started attending. The administration team are responsive and helpful, the educators are warm and caring, staffing is extremely consistent (little-to-no turnover), the facilities and food are excellent, and staff show a real commitment to the learning and development of the kids. The educators and staff work closely with parents to ensure each child's needs and developmental goals are met, while prioritising social and emotional well-being. Nursery Room staff helped us establish consistent sleep routines, drop naps, transition from bottles to solids, and deal with tantrums. They couldn't do this if they didn't know and form attachments with the kids, though, and this is what really shines through. The educators are all very responsive to the kids and the kids seem to genuinely love them. My toddler has formed close bonds with her educators and often speaks about them in their absence (Nursery 1 leader, Jabin, is a particular favourite!). She's always happy to see everyone at drop-off, and is always having a great time whenever I pick her. It's such a relief to drop my child off in the morning and know she'll be safe, nurtured, supported, and happy all day! It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that Goodstart Blackwood has been a godsend for us, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others. Do yourself a favour and send your child to this centre; you won't regret it!

My son attended Goodstart Blackwood for 3 years and I cannot speak highly enough of the centre and the incredible team there. From the very beginning the educators have shown genuine care, patience and understanding. The level of support, advocacy and compassion shown by both the educators and management has been outstanding. They have worked closely with external therapists, supported his development thoughtfully and always made sure he felt safe, valued and included. The communication from the centre has been excellent, and it’s clear how much effort goes on behind the scenes to support children and families, especially those with more complex needs. The educators truly know the children as individuals, and the warmth and dedication they bring every day does not go unnoticed. I highly recommend to any family looking for a nurturing, supportive and inclusive early learning environment.
