Our son was in the Emu's class last year with Mel and Kaz and it was such a fantastic experience for us, they worked amazingly along side our sons O.T, Psychologist ECT.. as he is on the NDIS.
This year in 4 year old kinder with Jas as the teacher, it started as red flags. Firstly she asked us to do from 9am-2:00pm, leaving me in a very difficult position of employment and having appointments off the island created an extremely stressful time for us. Upon speaking to other educators, one with over 40,000 members in the group, couldn't believe that we were even asked, and that we agreed. Also they would falsify our son being sick because she couldn't handle it, given I would temperature check him and the cough he apparently had would be miraculously gone when I picked him up and no snotty nose, and once falsy said he had conjunctivitis and after waiting 3 hours at the Cowes Hub, the doctor laughed and said "was it mother Theresa that said that?". Even after our son got KIS funding for an additional educator things only improved a little bit, but we were still asked to drop him off later and pick up earlier based on the AD's rostered day hours, I eventually lost employment because of them and I was continually stressed to the point every time I saw them calling I'd be having panic attacks.

Because of our sons multiple allergies, I started making our son homemade replacement foods that were super healthy using chickpeas. Keep in mind there is no policy stating home made food isn't allowed, or that food isn't allowed to be too delicious that it makes other kids jealous.

Our son came home extremely hungry, scoffing food down and I checked his lunch box to see that he barely ate and one of my Tupperwares is gone, which contained a homemade chickpea mouse. Asking my son what happened and where it was, he said his teacher confiscated it because no unhealthy food is allowed,.I was absolutely shocked because no one called me to verify, confirm or to let me know. I emailed Jas asking and I specifically said "Did child not want it?" she said that due to allergies and it being homemade it goes against policies and it's not fair to have something look like a nice treat because of the other children. No phone call or anything.

Jas failed and refused to show us the policy, but we actually found it and they aren't policies at all, besides no nuts but MY KID IS THE ALLERGY KID.

So not only did Jas impose her own personal beliefs to judge us and shame our child, but she lied about it being a policy.

I of course asked other parents and funnily enough, not only did they confess giving their kids homemade brownies, cookies, cakes ECT and never having their children have food taken away... But their children said "no she doesn't take my food, but she takes Jetts because it's unhealthy". Even other children noticed. Jas also tried to LIE and say she only took it and put it in the fridge because Jett didn't want it.

Remember earlier I said in my first email "did child not want it?" and again she said that wasn't the reason. The only person who has been consistent in their story is my child and other children.

The kindergarten management did not help at all and we had no choice but to move our son immediately to another centre, causing extreme stress, financial strain and a massive mistrust and resulting in me reporting them to the department. Since the move, our Son has improved tremendously, he even says "I love my new kinder, my teacher likes me". Because he even would ask me why Jas was mean all the time.

So if your reading this because you think you might want your children here, either run for the hills or request any class that doesn't have Jas as the teacher.
Im not the only parent who has had issues with Jas and been treated horribly.
