About the Curriculum

About the Curriculum

“Let the child be the scriptwriter, director and the actor in their own play” - Magda Gerber

Nursery Space: 6 weeks – 2 years

Learning starts from before birth, and our Educators have created a welcoming and nurturing nursery environment where each baby feels safe to explore and discover new things - through their senses, their communication and cues (body language, facial expression and sounds) and by experimenting. On any given day you can see the nursery children engaging in all types of play, water play, music time, story time and more. Every day provides a brand new, exciting adventure for our babies to support their development, learning and wellbeing!

Toddler Space: 2 - 3 years

Our teachers and educators encourage the children to learn through play to help enhance their sensory-motor development. This happens through carefully planned music, dance, games and reading experiences.

On any given day the Toddler children can be seen developing their numeracy by building a tower, sorting objects, pointing and identifying shapes and patterns and participating in counting songs and games.

Children in our toddler space are encouraged to participate in group play. Group play is important as it helps our toddlers develop important social skills such as, turn taking, developing self confidence and emotional self regulation. Our team helps children through talking, planning and role modelling.

Preschool Space: 3 – 6 years

Preschool is a unique time for learning with peers and developing skills for later learning including confidence and curiosity, important skills for starting school. Our play-based program encourages active engagement in learning and supports a range of positive developmental outcomes including resilience, independence, critical thinking and creativity.

The oral language supports literacy learning. A child’s oral language ability is the best predictor for later success in learning to read and write. Hearing the sounds within a language is the first critical step for all literacy learning. Our team supports our Preschool children's development by engaging in rich discussions, introducing new vocabulary as part of everyday conversations, as well as singing, playing games, and reading with the children daily.

Throughout the Preschool year, children use their language to share ideas, ask questions, express themselves, and connect with peers and adults in social settings.

Social-emotional skills, including the ability to self-regulate emotions, is supported through group learning environments. Our team supports each child’s social and emotional development by labelling and talking about emotions and supporting appropriate responses as together, they engage in new and challenging situations. Lastly, ensuring that all children are ready for the ‘big school’ by preparing them for all that ‘big school’ has to offer.

Health and Nutrition

Health and Nutrition

Our centre chef prepares and cooks healthy and nutritious meals daily, catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child. We believe that by encouraging active participation (such as growing their own fruit and vegetables, preparing, and finally cooking!) children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating.

Our centre offers children nutrient-rich, unprocessed, and seasonal whole foods – created to delight the fussiest eaters.

Hi my name is Sarah, and I am the Centre Manager here at Murray Bridge World of Learning. I began working in early learning in 2005 and joined World of Learning Murray Bridge in 2021. I hold a Diploma of Community Services (Child Studies), an Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management, and a Diploma of Leadership and Management. My career began as a preschool team leader before I found my passion with the toddler age group. Over the years, I progressed from team leader to educational leader and assistant centre manager. I have also held significant roles such as work health safety officer and new educator mentor.

What I love most about working in early education is the cuddles from the children and knowing that we are making a difference in their lives. We play a vital role in laying the foundation for lifelong learning, and I enjoy building relationships with our families and supporting them in the best ways possible. I have learned that rach child learns differently, and as educators, we can tailor our teaching styles to support individual and group learning. I believe children learn best through play in a supportive environment with nurturing educators. I focus on scaffolding children's learning, encouraging them to try on their own while knowing we are there to support, engage, and prompt thought.

There are many benefits to attending a dedicated early childhood education and care centre. Children gain social interaction, develop friendships and relationships with peers and educators, and engage in risky and messy play, creating, and investigating. Our environments support children's learning both indoors and outdoors. The educators at Murray Bridge World of Learning are a dedicated and passionate team. We have a great team culture where we support each other no matter what room we work in. We share ideas, new skills, and knowledge while having fun.

Building relationships with our families is one of the most important parts of my role. I enjoy building these connections and supporting families as best I can. Open communication is key. Being honest, understanding, and flexible when possible shows our families that we truly care. Valuing them and their input into the centre and their children's lives helps us create our own little community.

We have been going to World Of Learning for 3 & a half years. Sarah & Kita have accommodated to our needs and are just super friendly, helpful and create a wonderful environment. My favourite bit is receiving daily updates with photo's! I trust them with my child and with some personal matters that they've taken into consideration without judgement and I feel confident that other families - present and future will experience the same!

Response from the owner 22 Oct 2025

Knowing that our efforts are appreciated truly inspires us to keep striving for excellence. Kind regards, The World of Learning Team

I cannot fault my experience with this centre! The leadership team is incredible, and the educators in the two rooms my child has been in are fantastic. When we moved to town we toured all available centres and none of the others sat right with us. We had a horrible experience in our last centre and were very wary of finding a new one. The transition was seamless and the team listened to all of our concerns, and factored in our child’s past history and help build those connections and comfort for our child. She now has steadfast connections with all her educators and asks to go to childcare even on the weekend! The Junior and Baby rooms are the two we have experienced and they are amazing.

Response from the owner 22 Oct 2025

Dear Tayla, Thank you so much for your amazing 5-star review! We’re delighted that you found our leadership to be incredible. It’s wonderful to know that our dedication is making a positive impact on your family. Warm wishes, The World of Learning Team
